Finger Lime - Microcitrus australasica Red Champagne
A mature Australian native citrus plant. The finger-shaped fruit contain glistening ‘citrus pearls’. When bitten, these pearl explode in a juicy sweet, refreshing burst. This variety is the only finger lime that can produce fruit all year. The pearls are great in summer drinks and desserts, and can also be used in chutneys, jams and marmalades. They go well with oysters, fish, calamari and, of course, champagne. The overall height is just over 2m. Pot is 50cm diameter at the top and 40cm high.
