This dates to early 1940s and includes gown suitable for small woman, no size indicated, the hood for BA with white rabbit fur trim, and mortar board (trencher) with label for size 6. The condition is excellent as items have been wrapped in calico and stored in a camphor chest all these years.

The fabric is sari silk, patterned in beautiful bright colours outlined in gold thread. Size 12 and fully lined. Tailored by a skilful seamstress but uninspired in design. Given the wonderful fabric, a good home dressmaker could make something special of this.

Labelled Alligator, 20% cashmere, 70% wool, size 40, fabric from Italy. It is a rich navy colour with rabbit fur collar, decorative top button and four hidden buttons. Sloping pocket flaps and ‘belted’ effect on sleeve cuffs. Long back slit 66cm. Length is 118cm. Size 12 in Australian measurements. Not new but never worn. Never even seen the light of day.
