2x Vint. 20th Cent. Chinese silk portraits (1960-70s) ladies of Court
Offered for sale is this matched pair of charming vintage 20th Century Chinese original silk paintings, made post-WW2 and most likely dating from the 1960-70’s. In an almost contemporary Manga-esque style, the artist has created two stylised portraits of what Confucious might have termed ‘beauties of the Court’. Each depicts women at leisure – one reading (while seated on a classical Chinese sofa-bed next to a scholar’s table), the other relaxed in a natural setting. Both measure 52cm (h) x 4
