Update: I have put new strings on as those old ones were a hazard. The new strings are Pirastro Tonicas. This is a 3/4 size violin by the French violin maker Charles Bailly, made in 1939, so one of his later violins. Charles Bailly was a maker who had a workshop in the town of Mirecourt, famous for its violin workshops.
