A stunning warm light tones of Cedar consisting of one long draw at the top with two deep draws either side of two swallows draws boarded by an ornate carved scrolls leading down to three long draws also boarded by two full spirals. All draws below the top draw having locks with keys. Indications strongly suggest of English made. Local delivery possible after viewing at Merewether for small fee. These paired "Charabanc" --which means -- wagon with benches -- rear braking wheels were manufactured by wheelwrights in Brookvale blacksmith shop -- North Sydney in the early 1890's. They are fabricated entirely from cast steel of a type produced before the introduction of solid vulcanized rubber overlays -- they are fitted with rigid cast steel tyres.
