2004 KTM 640 Adventure
$8,750 Negotiable
Thinking of letting this iconic bike go.
I've upgraded to a 690. The plan was to hold on to this very well kept and optioned 640 ADV as good examples are getting harder and harder to find.
Sought after by capable riders and collectors, this bike's Paris-Dakar heritage shines through in its unmistakable styling.
The list of extras includes:
1. Professionally shortened seat.
2. Genuine lambswool comfort seat cover.
3. Kouba Link lowering links.
4. Knight Design lowered billet foot pegs.
5. Atlas Throttle Lock for effortless highway cruising.
6. Sturdy Quick Mount for an XT Zumo Motorcycle GPS on its own switched circuit.
7. Twin USB Port for phones etc.
8. Tank Protection/Crash Bars.
9. KTM 950 SE front guard.
10. Foam Grips & Bare End weights for vibration abatement.
11. KTM Competition Rear Muffler.
In addition to the above extras, GoldenTyre GT723 rear and fattie front tyres have been fitted approx. 500kms
Front forks have just been fully serviced by BikeTune a week ago.
New Chain and Poly Blocks & Guides were replaced 500km ago.
The carby was completely dismantled, cleaned, jetted and rebuilt for immediate starting and smooth running.
Front & rear wheel bearings, front & rear brake pads and a new air filter have been fitted.
A new SSB brand LiFePO4 Lithium Ion Battery has also just been fitted as the bike was stored in the garage the last 18 months.
This bike has done numerous Flinders trips and its capabilities far exceed mine.
Alone in remote terrain demands reliability and this bike will not let you down.
There are some down sides which in the interests of honesty, I am compelled to list.
1. Wheels have had a couple of knocks and Ive pressed them back and they're no cracked. They're not perfect however they dont wobble and ride fine on the road.
2. Heated grips are fitted but Ive never used them so unsure if they work.
3. Spotlights are fitted but not currently working as one has blown.
4. One of the 4 molded in threaded inserts for the air filter cover was rotating so I've pinned this. Just dont over tighten.
Other than that, you'd be buying a bike that will only increase in value due to its rarity and iconic value.
Can't be more upfront than what I've said above.
Asking $9,750 or best reasonable offer
Cheers.
