Brand New DeWalt 184mm/7.25 in 1350W Circular Saw (Model DWE560)
$125
I have a DeWalt DWE 560 (corded) circular saw for sale, brand new and still sealed in the box.
WHY AM I SELLING?
I got this as part of a redemption offer, but here's the funny bit.. I've been using another copy the same model of circular saw since 2016... so I don't need another one...(I could take photos of the used one, but that's not what I'm selling here).
I'm in the preparation stages of rebuilding the garage workshop from scratch since my DIY tendencies have gotten more ambitious, and I'm de-cluttering to make room for all the stuff I have to build and reorganize over the coming months.
CORDED TOOLS IN A SEEMINGLY CORDLESS WORLD?
If you're wondering to yourself: "Why wouldn't I buy cordless?" Yes it's true that cordless tools have improved significantly but...
I actually got this corded 560 as a redemption from buying a DeWalt kit WITH the cordless equivalent... I've used both and found:
The cordless equivalent (DeWalt DCS-573N-XE) worked, better than expected for a while... but over time, I became frankly...unimpressed with the battery life and it increasingly struggled with hard woods. I got used to making many passes to get the job done, but time is money... so I happily went back to this DWE-560 corded model and haven't had a hitch ever since.
Also, I find heavier electrical loads like a circular saw significantly shortens the life of the battery over typical drilling/driving/jigsaw loads... (particularly when sawing ironbark sleepers like I often do). Naturally, when the power flows quickly, the batteries get hot, and this is bad for the long term functionality of a Lithium battery. I have had many cordless tools from multiple brands which work well.. I just don't think the circular saw is an ideal candidate for batteries.. unless you're a light-duty user, working with thinner and/or softer materials.
BACK TO THE DWE-560 SAW:
Now this is a basic model, and it sells for $209 in stores (see included screenshot, but feel free to verify it for yourself), and I'm only asking $125. The box is a bit dusty from storage in the garage during my recent DIY renovation of our laundry, but that's the only issue. (See other images).
TIPS FOR TRANSACTION SUCCESS:
- If the ad is up, it's available, please don't ask.
- Pickup & cash only.
- Message only. I travel, work shifts, and hop from one meeting to another, so my hours of work and consciousness alike are odd indeed. Please don't call. If you do message, please send one message only, inundations of messages do not result in a faster response rate.
- I'm selling this at a discount, so this means two things. Firstly, that I will respond when convenient. Secondly, low-ball offers will be ignored. However, I am in the market for passable quality plywood sheeting (12mm or thicker) or bench top materials. If you have some spare laying about, maybe we can arrange something if you have something in mind.
- If you do arrange to meet up, and miss that appointment without letting me know/rescheduling with me first, I don't give second chances. Time wasters have been a major problem for me, so please be on time, or let us know that you can't make it.
Thanks for looking!
Hamish.
