2 x Antique 20th Cent. Shaw & Copestake 'Moonlight Ware' vases
$95
Offered for sale is this charming pair of Antique 20th Century English-made Shaw and Copestake ‘Moonlight Ware’ hand-decorated and gilt pottery vases in a Japanoiserie style, most likely dating from the 1920’s.
Whilst both are individually painted, each depict a similar idealised Japanese rural/forested landscape with a waterside three-tiered temple. Decorated on all sides, several small boats also feature as quaint design elements. The Art-Nouveau/Jugendstil-inspired pottery bodies have a soft lilac underglaze.
No cracks or chips. One vase has a small area with tiny marks, and there is some light wear to the gilding on both rims (as pictured). The pair are priced accordingly.
Both measure 24.5cm (h) x 10.5cm x 10.5cm approximately.
Please check the pictures as they form part of the item description.
