1970s Memosail swiss watch (Series One) RARE collectable
$1,000
Offered for sale is this genuine early 1970’s Memosail watch (Series One). The Memosail (Series One) was made from 1972 to 1975, featuring a UFO-style case in chrome-plated brass. Fitted with the high-quality Swiss 17-jewel Valjoux 7737 movement and waterproof to 100m.
A truly interesting watch, unique in design and great talking piece on your wrist. Its classic status is reflected by Constantin Weinsz releasing a new, limited run in 2019 (using original Vajoux 7767 movements) almost 50 years after first being launched. Series One Memosails have experienced a recent jump in prices, so get in quick! A detailed production history is available at: http://www.regatta-yachttimers.com/brands/memosail/
In excellent original condition, the crystal presents very well and case has only a small amount of wear. Being almost 50 years old, it shows a gentle patina that reflects the history of use. It winds, keeps good time and holds power well over 24 hours. The 10-minute ‘Race Start’ countdown wheel does move and chronograph timer did reset when initially purchased (not currently). Like any secondhand watch I would recommend a full service by a competent watchmaker.
Price is set fairly to reflect rarity, condition and recent market movements. SO NO OFFERS.
Case measures 45.6mm (approx.).
Please check the pictures as they form part of the item description. As pictured it needs a replacement silicone strap and springbar.
Cash or direct deposit sale only. Can post at buyers expense (must include insurance for damage or loss) or personally deliver to Melbourne CBD for a fee. Accurate as possible description at time of listing, however like any secondhand item is sold without guarantee or return so please ask any questions before purchase (as any sale is final).
