The artist was Pierre Eugene Aubert (1789 to 1847), with the plate engraved and published by Gilquin Dupain (19 Rue de la Calandre, Paris). An early view of the fledgling settlement, with the newly-finished Saint James’ church prominent. This most likely means Aubert created the image looking south-west from Cremorne across the harbour.
