NOW REDUCED BY $100!
Vintage Scandinavian (from Sweden) 1960s by Almedahls Textiles drapes curtains panels, greenery floral botanical print, x 2: each curtain handmade into flat panel with rod pocket/to hang from toothed clips. Cotton, made and printed in Sweden in 1960s.
Many greens, with accents of white, blue, red: overall look is leafy green/botanical with sprays/bouquets of flowers. So while 'floral', curtains look more like 'greenery' than they do traditional 'floral' drapes, if that makes sense. Focal point is the expanse of greens, rather than the floral accents.
If like me you are a vintage curtain connoisseur, you will know how hard it is to find coloured/patterned vintage panels that have a GREEN background. It's usually white or off-white. So imagine my delight when I found these beauties from another seller! They were exactly what I was after, and I hung them with pride at my huge sliding glass doors for some six months. Alas, I tire of my drapery/soft furnishings with the seasons, so my 'season' with these curtains has now passed, and someone else should have them now:)
Panels have been handmade (sewn by original owner is my guess, though finishes are to professional standard) into two panels of approx 138cm x 215cm, so total width approx 276cm (together) drop/length 215cm. Top allowance gives approx another 11cm of fabric (rod pocket) and hem another 9cm if unpicked. Sewing has been done beautifully, no need to alter unless you require extra length. Side seams approx 1cm turns, so an addition 4-5cm in total, if unpicked.
Drapes are not blockout but they are also not sheer: light filtering, but allowing for total privacy, and cast a beautiful green glow:) I am selling the panels together, not separately. Fabric would be perfect for upcyclying projects of course, but panels are perfect as is to hang as curtains: I can't see any notable flaws, no holes or thinning etc. I imagine that drapes were once darker/deeper in colour, but whatever fade there is, it's utterly consistent: fabric has no visible fade marks as such, no streaks or dappling etc. Colours are still vibrant and lovely and photos depict them accurately. But the drapes ARE VINTAGE, and NOT DEADSTOCK, so expect them to be in USED CONDITION.
In the very last photo, both drapes are hung together at my sliding glass doors. I had them pinned together as sliding glass doors open from one side.
I DO NOT believe panels require laundering, but you may feel otherwise. They hung as said in my home for about six months, but do not have any odour as far as I can tell, nor are they dirty, dusty, etc. We do have cats, but I can't see any cat hairs on the drapes. Personally, when I buy new (for me) vintage drapes, I just hang them outside for a few hours prior to hanging them at my window. Most do not require laundering (though this is of course just my experience). Being highest quality cotton, fabric should wash and dry with ease, though I would proceed with extreme caution given fabric is between 50-60 years of age (!!) - only iron with utmost care on wrong side, if washed, or you feel is absolutely necessary. Drapes may have minimal creasing on arrival; hanging usually straightens any such wrinkling out. I personally would not be game to launder.
If you know their fabrics, then you know how very expensive and highly sought-after their vintage textiles really are: hence price of these drapes. For fellow collectors/vintage fabric tragics:) Worthpoint often prices huge vintage Scandie panels like these in the thousands (AUD) - I am on-selling for cost of own purchase.
Please note that measurements are all approximate, taken to best of my ability.
Pick up from Belconnen, payment in person CASH ONLY. Otherwise, postage at buyer's expense, $20 tracked Australia-wide with payment method to be negotiated.
PLEASE NOTE: for sale on multiple platforms. First to pay gets the goodies.

Please note: only in-person cash payment accepted. Carved, custom-made Huon Pine Dutch Dresser, presumably made in either 70s or 80s. Listing as made in 1980s though could be earlier; style is reminiscent of Dutch Jugendstil revival of 80s more than e.g. Nouveau or Deco revivals of 70s.
