Head Degaussing Demagnetiser Tool Cassette or Reel to reel 230V VGC
$95
SHIPPING OFFERED
A valuable tool that was once readily available, but sadly getting harder and harder to find these days, particularly in excellent condition like this one.
Over time tape recorder heads build up residual magnetism from the tapes they play or other influences. That magnetism reduces the quality of reproduction, and, if particularly bad can damage the tapes you play.
Use couldn’t be simpler:
· Energise the demagnetiser move it over the face of the head / heads.
· If required you could also move it over the capstan etc.
· Whilst still energised slowly (again, S-L-O-W-L-Y) move it away from the deck. (The decreasing AC magnetic field will act to demagnetise.)
· Once some distance away (at least 300mm) switch off power to the demagnetiser. (Collapsing the field whilst the tool was still close to the head would magnetise rather than demagnetise.)
