vintage 1980s/90s Home Beautiful & Better Homes& Gardens Mags
$1,000 Negotiable
We are seeking expressions of interest in our collection of early 1980s and 1990s Australian Home Beautiful and Better Homes & Gardens magazines... Probably about 20 years' worth, from roughly 1981 to roughly 2001, for each magazine.
****NOTE Home Beautiful from 1985 have all been sold and are therefore not available*****
Around 500 magazines all up.
Have only been read once or twice (most of them. Some have been looked at more often)
Each mag should be totally intact, but there MIGHT be a recipe torn out of a couple...
Almost a complete set of consecutive issues in each mag. (We did foolishly lend some out, which naturally never came back....)
Back in the 80s and 90s we lived in the City and after we read them, we put them in a loungeroom bookcase, until it got too overcrowded. We then boxed them & stored them. Then we moved to the farm & brought them with us!!
We are preparing to move homes again & it seems silly to cart them with us once more - we are getting older & would like these collections to go to a good home, where people can enjoy them once again.
Perhaps a Museum, researcher, Advertising Company, or even a Props department?
In their day, they were priced about $1 - $5 each (the more modern issues were more expensive).
We'd sell them for $10 each now, even though they would be worth way more for their historical value.
Will only sell in "year" lots (each year contains about 10 - 13 issues) That would cost about $65, plus extra for postage if you are unable to collect in person.
Not willing to split into individual issues/single magazines, unless there is a duplicate issue in any year.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please understand that we CAN bring them to Melb for a genuinely interested purchaser, but there might be some delay. Currently we are doing the trip down from the farm about every 3-4 weeks, but this is dependent on commitments at the farm.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------THEY ARE TOO HEAVY TO MAIL. IT WOULD REQUIRE A FREIGHT COMPANY TO SHIP THEM, WHICH IS EXPENSIVE - BUYER PAYS FREIGHT ON TOP OF PURCHASE PRICE.
All enquiries by email please
