MILITARIA: SCARCE c.2000 AUTRALIAN ARMY CADET CORPS HAT BADGE
$5
SHIPPING OFFERED
Cadets have been in existence in Australia since the first unit was established in 1866, at St Mark's Collegiate School, NSW.
During the period 1949-51, the title of 'Australian Cadet Corps' [ACC] and the Torch and Sword logo was officially adopted. In 1993, the title of 'Australian Army Cadet Corps' [AACC] was approved and the first hat badge for the Corps was produced. The AACC remained until circa 2004 when the title Australian Army Cadets was adopted and a new hat badge was produced to reflect the name change. This particular design of Australian Army Cadet Corps badges has but a brief 9 – 10 year presence in the 150 year history of Cadets in Australia. The design of the Australian Army Cadet Corps badge consists of a sword crossed with a torch of learning surmounted by an Australian Army Badge more commonly known as the 'Rising Sun' badge.
The genuine Army-issue hat badge is gold anodised with red and blue enamel highlights. The badge is 37 mm in diameter, the pins on the reverse are intact and secure with clutch grips.
This badge is in excellent, as new condition and is becoming quite scarce to acquire. This particular design of Australian Army Cadet Corps badge has but a brief history and is ready to join a collection of badges or for a former member of the AACC.
Pick-up from Forest Lake or postage extra. Regular Postage will cost $2.50.
