c.1950s VINTAGE QUEEN ANNE TUDOR COTTAGE PATTERN CUP, SAUCER & PLATE
$25
SHIPPING OFFERED
‘Queen Anne’ was a brand name introduced after World War 2 between 1950 – 1959 by Shore & Coggins when they produced bone china at their Edensor Works in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. In 1966 the ‘Queen Anne’ brand name then became part of the Ridgway Potteries group and was used by them for bone china through the 1980s.
This delightful trio, more than 60 years old, consists of vintage Queen Anne ‘Tudor Cottage’ pattern bone china with scalloped gold trimmed footed teacup, saucer and luncheon plate. Measurements of the pieces include:
• Teacup: 92 mm diameter scalloped rim and 70 mm in height.
• Saucer: 140 mm diameter scalloped edge.
• Luncheon Plate: 158 mm diameter scalloped edge.
The Queen Anne maker’s mark on the base of the cup indicates that the pieces were produced between 1950 and 1959. The trio is in good vintage condition with no cracks or crazing and the gilt is in very good condition. The luncheon plate has one insignificant chip on the edge but the cup and saucer are free of chips. The interior of the cup appears to have mild tannin staining near the bottom. This trio is ready to join a vintage collection of bone china or an important addition to a 'crazy' tea setting.
Pick-up from Forest Lake or postage extra. [Standard Parcel Postage and packing will cost $14.50].
