This beautiful coffee table is made from solid teak. I was told by the previous owner that it was originally purchased by the aunty of her deceased great aunt and had been sitting in storage for the past 15 years gathering dust. So, I'm dating this one back to the 1960’s. I spent a number of hours refurbishing it back to its former glory by gently stripping back all timber areas, sanding and re-staining the frame, applying 2 coats of Osmo Polyx-Oil wax and voila!!! stunning! This very clever late 1950’s designed coffee table predates Parker's recognizable ‘Nordic’ range. It gives the impression that the tabletop is floating about the base. A couple of main differences is that this model is made from solid coachwood, not teak veneer, while the top has a laminated inlay.
