Antique Tractor Oxy Welder Cutter
$220
VERY RARE vintage-antique TRACTOR OXY WELDER/CUTTER manufactured by a [now long gone] company called CURTEX in Lidingo Stockholm Sweden. This is pretty much the last one ‘still found in the wild’ on the planet so if you are a collector of vintage oxy equipment then here is an item of ‘museum quality’. As a fantastic conversation piece it would make a great addition to a mancave.
Once the front wheel is set-down on a track and the electric motor switched-on plus the required speed set the ‘tractor’ would move slowly forward so the oxy cutting torch could then slice-along-and-through a steel plate while you go and have a cup of tea.
Note; for safety reasons the electric power cord has been removed.
There are x3 electric power-switches;
The SWITCH located at the rear has two selections; ‘FRAN’ (From) and ‘TILL’ (To) . . . which possibly means forwards and backwards?
The SWITCH located underneath at the rear has two selections; ‘HELFART’ (Full Speed) and HALVFART’ (Half Speed) . . . who would have guessed that FART means SPEED in Swedish.
The SWITCH located on the top has no function-selection label but I presume is the main power-on-and-off switch?
The SPEED CONTROL DIAL located on top has two (graduated) selections; ‘MINSKAR’ (Reduces) and ‘OKAR’ (Increases).
Underneath is a manufacturers ID plate with; ‘TYPE 699010’ and ‘NR 4596’ . . . note that the plate may have more info but this is concealed from view by the footplate of the rear-wheels-assembly that is screwed-on underneath with x4 screws.
I have had this item for over 20 years and it was antique when I got it. Note: there was no CLAMP or CUTTING TORCH attached to the front when I bought this, so the clamp and cutting head-torch shown are ‘a mock-up’ that I have added for effect and display purposes only, these are not original to the unit but are included in this sale.
Length approx. 55cm
Weight approx. 6 kilos
This item is an old and used and so sold here ‘as is’ for display purposes only.
PICKUP ONLY / CASH ONLY (‘real cash’ only - no transfers) at Horsley NSW 2530 (West Dapto) just south of Wollongong, Thank you.

- Hard Hat and Carbide LampVintage Hard Hat and Lamp. Nice mancave display piece. This is an incredibly RARE hard hat. I do not know what it is made of possibly fibreglass or some sort of early ‘Duraglass’ like plastic, perhaps even a highly compressed composite ‘wood pulp’ material? I see that some very early hard hats are referred to as ‘Boiled Fibreglass’ but I think this could well be an urban myth based on a pre-1940’s patented process by the American E.D.
