Very rare copy of the June 1952 edition of British Harper's Bazaar with a Louise Dahl-Wolfe cover photo of her favourite model Mary Jane Russell in Revlon 'Paint the Town Pink' lipstick & nail polish. It's a 92 page summer issue full of gorgeous early Fifties day, evening, beach and holiday fashion with big spreads shot on the French Riviera and at the new Mid Century Modern Royal Festival Hall in London built in 1951 for the Festival of Britain. There's also an intimate profile of the reclusive 'La Divine' Greta Garbo by her close friend Truman Capote with a striking portrait photo by George Hoyningen-Huene plus articles on perfume, plastic surgery, the new short hairstyles, an exercise programme and lots of lovely full page early 1950s adverts.
Editorial fashion and beauty photographers in this issue include Richard Dormer, Maurice Tabard and Lilian Bassman and there are top models of the 1950s such as Anne Gunning, Barbara Mullen, Susan Abraham, Fiona Campbell-Walter and Lisa Fonssagrives.
The magazine is in good vintage condition overall with some age wear. The covers and spine are worn with a bit of paper loss on the spine and there are pale tea like stains on the back cover and some of the inside pages.
