Rare copy of the February 1976 edition of American Vogue with an Arthur Elgort cover photo of model Roseanne Vela in white Calvin Klein knitwear, red and blue YSL scarves and gold Bulgari necklace. This is a big thick 218 page 'American Style' issue featuring all things American in their Bicentennial Year.
The multiple fashion spreads include 20 pages of the US Spring Collections featuring Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Halston, Geoffrey Beene, John Anthony, Victor Joris, Kasper, Bill Blass and Mary McFadden. Others are Evening fashion by Oscar de la Renta, Giorgio Sant’Angelo, Mollie Parnis and Leo Narducci, sophisticated work clothes and 6 pages of ‘Easy Clothes, Easy Cars' with cars including the Jaguar XJS, AMC Pacer, Ford Pinto, Cadillac and the Bill Blass special 1976 edition of the Lincoln Continental Mk IV. The beauty pages have honey and apricot make up colours, new skincare inventions and short shape hair cuts.
There are 12 pages of ‘Great American favourites’ with classics such as jeans, sneakers and cowboy boots. Marisa Berenson poses in photos as US style icons The Gibson Girl, Irene Castle, Josephine Baker and Rita de Acosta Lydig with a commentary by Diana Vreeland. Plus American Art, Woody Allen and Zero Mostel in ‘The Front’, Unknown America and much more. It's a really great issue!

There are also lots of great mid Seventies American ads including Lisa Taylor in ‘Daring is Your Dior’ shot by Chris von Wangenheim, Veruschka as both model and photographer for Blassport, I Magnin shot by Albert Watson, Cheryl Tiegs for Virginia Slims, Lauren Hutton for Ultima II and Ciara perfume, Karen Graham for Estee Lauder, Dayle Haddon for Revlon Daring Young Red, Cristina Ferrare for Monet jewellery, Lilly Pulitzer and Halston.
The magazine is complete and intact with general age wear. The covers and spine have the most wear including creases and a tear on the front and there is edge paper browning on some inside pages.
