Pete Townshend - Who I Am (Autobiography) (1st Ed Hardback)
$14
SHIPPING OFFERED
'Who I Am' by Pete Townshend in very good condition. It's a First Edition hardback as per photo 3.
The blurb:- Songwriter, composer, lead guitarist and creative powerhouse behind the legendary Who - at their peak the most exciting live rock band in the world - Pete Townshend is a pre-eminent influence on rock.
Spearheading sixties rock, smashing guitars in auto-destructive performances and writing songs that challenged the function of popular music, Tonwshend created the power chord and broke the three minute mould of the pop song in 'Tommy', 'Quadrophenia' and later works, developing rock's structure and potential as an art form.....
Now, for the first time, Townshend tells his own story, giving an intensely moving account of his difficult childhood, its repercussions in later life, and his quest to understand his own past while keeping faith with his audience. As a chronicle of ambition, controversy, relentless perfectionsim, rock 'n' roll excess, and ultimate redemption, this is not just a genuine rock classic but a testament to the integrity and stature of a true artist of our times.
Contents pages are shown in photos 4 & 5. There's the obligatory photo sections too as per photo 7 & 9.
538 pages. Published by HarperCollinsPublishers in 2012 [1st Edition]. ISBN 978-0-00-746603-0. [Approx 24 x 16.5 x 5cms & 815g]
This hardback is in very good condition with pages clean and tightly bound. Dust cover shows a few signs of use/storage as per photos 1 & 2 including a little wrinkling at the top and bottom edges of the spine, and there is a tiny tear [approx 2mms] at the corner of the spine and front at the top [could easily be addressed with a bit of tape]. The hardcover itself shows a bit of rubbing wear to its edges at the top and bottom of the spine and to tips of corners, and there is a nikko mark to the bottom edge of the closed pages which extends onto the bottom edge of the hardcover. That all sounds like a lot since I try to mention all defects, but it's all minor cosmetic things so there's nothing to interfere with reading and enjoying the book.
Also have a few other band/artist biographies listed separately at present.
Please note:-
- Inspections welcome.
- Best to phone [three&two+zero&nine+seven&one+eight&two] if you are keen to collect. I don't use a mobile and often only get to check messages late in the evening, so please check your email for replies [they sometimes end up in your Spam folder].
- No Paypal [sorry]
