Rare fern Sphaeropteris excelsa, Cyathea brownii,Norfolk tree fern or smooth tree fern, the tallest fern species in the world, and one of the fastest growing . Found in Norfolk Island where its numbers are small and considered endangered . Prefers damp well ,drained hummus rich soil. Grows up to 20meters over many many years, and can withstand temperatures down to -6 degrees.
