Maidens Tower Decorative Plate (Special Edition)
Making use of a reproduction of an old Istanbul engraving, this handmade product depicts the Maiden's Tower. Engravings are works of art that are produced by ink-printing on paper a picture etched onto a metal, stone or wooden plate. This engraving, drawn by the British artist Allom in the late 1830s, flawlessly depicts the Maiden's Tower and its surroundings, which are used as a castle for defense, exile stations and quarantine room during the Ottoman period.
