LW cactus Lophophora alberto-vojtechii VM 758 Vanegas 10 fresh seeds
$11.99
SHIPPING OFFERED
This listing is for 10 seeds of Lophophora alberto-vojtechii VM 758 cactus locality Vanegas, San Luis Potosí, Mexico. These are new season, fresh seeds as of 2024. Genuine Vanegas genetics with Vojtech Myšák's field collection number VM 758, limited quantities.
Lophophora alberto-vojtechii is the smallest species in the genus and also the most recently discovered. In habitat it grows on the alluvial plains where it spends most of the year shrunken and withdrawn into the ground. During the annual flooding of the plains the plants swell, grow, and shortly after, put on a display of flowers.
Maintaining the genetics of the many localised forms of the species is a popular pursuit among growers as plants from different populations often look unlike each other in terms of rib structure and general morphology with slight differences in skin colour as well.
The first 5 photos show plants in habitat and the last 2 photos are an example of my prior test germination of seeds where a 95% germination rate was achieved (the last photo is after I applied a top dressing).
Buyers are advised to use a fungicide - I recommend Captan - when sowing these seeds to optimise germination and seedling survival.
Printed instructions on successful germination included with purchase.
Check out my other LW, LK and LF seed listings, I have a whole heap of different localities for purists looking to maintain distinct genetic lineages including ones extinct in habitat.
$3.60 flat rate domestic shipping with tracking. I always combine post at the $3.60 flat rate if you buy multiple items.
