This photo was taken in early 1943 from an American Mitchell B25 heavy bomber. The USAF 5TH Air Force 'Sun Setters' Bomb Group was based in Queensland Australia in 1943,and was later relocated to Port Moresby New Guinea. This bombing of a Japanese Naval Cruiser took place at Port Moresby courtesy of the 71st Squadron of the 38th Bomb group. Phone calls seem to work best this end. Thanks for viewing.

This "Photostrike" promotional poster is an original 'Allied Air Forces' production from 1945. Poster size is roughly A4-ish at 11" x 9.5". Condition is fair for a used item of close to 80 years old. In essence we are looking at a piece of history pertaining to the 30th and 31st Squadrons and their Bristol Beaufighter campaigns into enemy territory towards the end of WWII. A collection of 3 original RAAF intelligence photographs of the November 2 1943 Simpson Harbour bombing raid known as "Bloody Tuesday". Photo #1 (first 3 pics) s of the foreshore area under attack.Credited to 71st Squadron of the USAF 38th Bomb Group ("Sun Setters") . My pics below show two original photos stapled together as a pair from the time of their original RAAF use. They are original copies of some of the handiwork of The Black Pirates, 400th Squadron of the famed Jolly Rogers 90th Bomb Group during their stay in Australia and touring New Guinea and the local region 1942- 1944.
