Modern Motor June 1959
MOTOR magazine was originally published as Modern Motor from its inaugural issue on 9 May 1954 by the late Colin Ryrie as MD of Modern Magazines and Jules Feldman OAM as editor. The name derived from the publishing house that produced it, Modern Magazines. Colloquially, the title was abbreviated to Motor, and subsequently the word 'Modern' was dropped from the title to become simply “MOTOR” in 1992. The magazine is headquartered in Melbourne.
Dylan Campbell was the editor of MOTOR between 2013 and 2020. After switching to Wheels in September 2020, Campbell was succeeded as editor at MOTOR by Andy Enright. MOTOR focuses on prestige and high-performance vehicles and covers every aspect of performance-car culture.
For sale is a June 1959 edition of Motor Magazine featuring the Land Rover and the Mercedes 190 Saloon for 1959, along with an interesting in depth article on the Daimler Dart V8. The condition of this motoring time capsule I would describe as 9/10, excellent condition for its age of 64 years. This magazine has some excellent articles for Land Rover, Daimler, Mercedes, Ford, Aston Martin, Triumph and Cadillac enthusiasts making it a worthwhile addition to your collection of motoring memorabilia.
