Look at the Plant and look at these information about the Taro root wihtout verification whether the information is correct:
Manganese: 30% of the daily value (DV)
Vitamin B6: 22% of the DV
Vitamin E: 19% of the DV
Potassium: 18% of the DV
Copper: 13% of the DV
Vitamin C: 11% of the DV
Phosphorus: 10% of the DV
Magnesium: 10% of the DV
You could grow and grow from 1 to 10 from from 10 to 100... to a full garden.
So just buy 1, water it once a day or water it once every 3 days if you are busy and you have water in your pot or just any thrown away packaging boxes without a hole on the bottom. No chemical fertilizer is required. Rain water will be the best as it gathering all the dust in the sky and through chemical reaction the rainwater contains very good nutrients for the plant to grow and grow. So instal rainwater tanks or use the milk bottles to collect rains...
I bought 1 a few years ago and it grows and grows into a full garden. Just to look at them is a pleasure. When I am running out of veges, I just dig up the roots, pick the large ones and leave the smaller ones and cook them with duck...excellent. The smaller one will grow into large ones and become the mothers and produce little baby taros surrounding them. It's fun seeing them grow and equally satisfactory eating them from the top to the toe.
Our smart Fiji friends would just buy the smaller plants, eat the leaves and they grow them into large plants.
To allow better grow, get rid of some of the old leaves (eat them too no waste) to allow the younger leaves and the shoots of the Plant will have more nutrients to grow faster and the new leaves will be more pretty and the taro baby will be born.
