C1925 Large Steel Ice Pick
$78 Negotiable
Relatively heavy (369 grams) old solid steel ice pick used to break up solid blocks of ice when ice boxes were common before refrigeration. The first fridge came to Australia in 1915 but ice boxes (similar size to a fridge but with ice in it to keep it cold) were still used for many years after especially by holidaying campers. I remember in the mid 1960s as a teenager having to lug big blocks of ice in Hessian bags back to the tent to put in the ice box - this was in Tathra. The handle is about 22cm long and the pick just under 13cm. Postage would be extra.

- 5 Vintage Small Silverplated Meat Serving ForksCollection of 5 vintage/perhaps antique meat server forks. Most are silverplated although the silver has worn off the oldest 5-pronged one. That one was made by Mappin and Webb, silversmiths based in both London and Sheffield between about 1880 and 1920. Unfortunately, it has a crack in the faux bone-handle on one side too. The longest one with the pinkish faux bone-handle is about 175mm long and the shortest (all metal) is 140mm long. Postage is not included in price.
