My grandmothers and mother used to use these porcelain milk boilers when boiling milk to stop the pan from overflowing and it worked. Sometimes they would continue to simmer the milk after it had boiled then put it in the fridge where the cream would come to the top and you could skim it off to have some on your cornflakes in the summer or your porridge in the winter. It was yummo. They were made in a factory in the Perth suburb of Subiaco by ceramic makers Brisbane and Wunderlich which established the Wembley Ware line of ceramics in 1946. The milk savers didn't start being manufactured there until the 1950s.

- 5 Vintage Small Silverplated Meat Serving ForksCollection of 5 vintage/perhaps antique meat server forks. Most are silverplated although the silver has worn off the oldest 5-pronged one. That one was made by Mappin and Webb, silversmiths based in both London and Sheffield between about 1880 and 1920. Unfortunately, it has a crack in the faux bone-handle on one side too. The longest one with the pinkish faux bone-handle is about 175mm long and the shortest (all metal) is 140mm long. Postage is not included in price.
