1915-20s Hickory Shaft 2 Iron - Bert Oldfield's Sports Shop Hunter St
$120 Negotiable
This hickory shafted 2 iron was hand forged for Bert Oldfield's sports store at 52-54 Hunter Street in Sydney around 1915-20s. It is in very good condition considering it's age and the fact that the head appears to be forged from stainless steel. It has a dashed pattern on the front of the head. The back of the head includes "HAND FORGED"; Bert Oldfield's business logo of the W, A & O on top of each other; the word "Monogram" in cursive which is the brand name of the club; "STAINLESS SPECIAL" over "2 IRON"; and an oval circle inside which is "W. A. OLDFIELD LTD 54 HUNTER ST SYDNEY". It has a leather wound grip which is in very good condition apart from some old sticky tape at the bottom of the grip. The top end of the grip is raised, possibly by having 5 to 6 thicknesses of the leather grip on top of one another - see photo. The stick is approximately 100cm long. The price doesn't include any postage or handling costs.

- 5 Vintage Small Silverplated Meat Serving ForksCollection of 5 vintage/perhaps antique meat server forks. Most are silverplated although the silver has worn off the oldest 5-pronged one. That one was made by Mappin and Webb, silversmiths based in both London and Sheffield between about 1880 and 1920. Unfortunately, it has a crack in the faux bone-handle on one side too. The longest one with the pinkish faux bone-handle is about 175mm long and the shortest (all metal) is 140mm long. Postage is not included in price.
