Pete Geoghegan's GTHO Pase III Super Falcon - Mint condition
$365
This 1:18 scale model is as new and was only displayed for a very short time and then returned to its box for safe keeping.
This is a great looking car and shows what a worked phase 3 would look like in the flesh.
Heralding the glory days of Australian Improved production motor racing is this amazing model of Pete Geoghegan's GT-HO Super Falcon from Classic Carlectables.
In 1970, Ford Special Vehicles operation, headed by racing boss Al Turner, designed and hand-built a pair of super light weight, GT-HO “Super Falcons”.
The sole plan for these Falcons was to compete against and beat the tough competition from local marks like Norm Beechey’s extremely successful HT Monaro and of the infamous Mustangs and Camaros. The budget allocated to achieve this goal was staggering and the results overall did not reflect the effort, time and money spent.
The two drivers set the challenge to steer these cars to victory were Allan Moffat and Pete Geoghegan.
The first competitive appearance of a GT-HO Super Falcon was November 14 1970 at Symmons Plains, Tasmania for the final round of the ATCC.
Round 3 of the 1972 Australian Touring Car Championship run at Mount Panorama, Bathurst has gone down in history as the best touring car race of all time. Big Pete regarded that race as his best ever drive. The Super Falcon won the event by 6/10's of a second over the legendary Coca Cola Mustang run by the one and only Alan Moffat. The Super Falcon had finally made its mark in the Improved production racing category - the glory days of Australian Muscle car motor racing.
The model is a limited run model limited to 5,000 models. The model and certificate are in mint. The coloured box has very minor shelf wear. This is not unusual given the time it has spent in storage.
This model is a must for any Ford Muscle fan. The model has excellent detail you will not be disappointed if you purchase this famous Australian Icon muscle car.
DIRECT deposit is preferred.
