- Wilton Armetale Drafting of The Declaration of Independence 1776 PlateThis Wilton RWP (Red Wing Pottery) Armetale plate, depicting the drafting of the US Declaration of Independence in 1776, has a diameter measuring about 11 inches or 28cm. The colourful picture is on a ceramic disc which has a diameter of 6 inches or about 15cm. The plate was made at the Winlton Armetale foundry at Mt Joy in Pennsylvania (in Amish country) around 1979/80. Armetale is a type of pewter made by fusing 10 different metals and cast in sand.
