Vietnamese Shaman Funerary Cloth

Vietnamese Shaman Funerary Cloth mounted (lightly stitched) onto cardboard and framed 118 cm x 85 cm. Dated 1939 - see image 3.
Note that the image appears faded as I attempted to photograph through the glass frame (reflections are also evident). The painting is actually more colourful than it appears above.
I purchased this cloth in Hanoi during a visit in 2007. I was told that the cloth bore images of the deceased person's life and was passed over a fire during part of the ceremony. A hole was therefore burnt in part of the cloth - this was repaired before sale to me (image 2).
