Davidson Plum native fruit tree
Pick up from Tewantin, QLD 4565
The plant for sale is shown in the photo with a ruler
The Davidson plum is a genus of plant native to Australia. This variety is the NSW variety that is a bit shorter and more compact than the ones in North QLD.
It tends to grow as a slender tree, straight up with fruit coming from the trunk like in photo 1. They grow to about 5-6 meters. They can branch if you top them. The fruit are edible but they are quite sour and are best used in cooking with sugar to balance.
Plant care: these plants are pretty hardy because they are native to our environment. But they grow in forested areas and prefer a bit of shade while young, or leaves can burn. They handle more light as they get larger.
