Sissoo spinach â Brazilian spinach plant

Sissoo Spinach is an edible green leafy ground cover. The leaves are lush and green; they have a crisp texture and a taste that is slightly nutty in flavour. The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked, and are often used in stir fries.
Sissoo Spinach is a perennial which thrives in warm wet conditions and grows well on the sunshine coast. It enjoys the full sun, or part shade of up to 50% with rich soil and constant soil moisture. Grow it in a veggie bed that has been amended with plenty of compost. The plant responds well to pruning and will become bushier; it will creep along the ground and slowly fill an area. It will grow to around 30cm high and should be spaced 60cm apart.
