Fuchsia Arborescens - Bush Fuchsia Lilac Pink- Edible Berry Flower - Ornamental long Bloom
Pick up from Werribee VIC 3030 with notice of pickup date/time/how many.
Family of fuchsia. However hardier than common fuchsias. One of my favourites. Bunnings price is $17-$21 for similar size of same plant.
Current available plants are similar to the ones that are planted in a 14cm pot or recycled container/milk bottle in one of listing photos. Some other photos are mother plant for reference showing how it looks like at mature stage.
Excellent and beautiful plant specie. A fast growing plant without virtual disease and pest. It is not invasive and very easy to be cared and managed.
Plant info: Fuchsia Arborescens – Lilac Fuchsia Pink Flower – It is also name as Tree Fuchsia, but it is not actual tree size. It is just small bush. Mother plant is only 1.5m height and easy to be pruned to even smaller. An impressive flowering plant, wonderful erect evergreen shrub with pink sparklers massive flowers all over the plant with bright pink flower clusters large panicles (each cluster can be 15-25cm cross). It flowers all year round, and is a very heavy bloomer. You can enjoy the flowers year-round with long flowering period nearly non-stop flowering. It is one of the best performant bushes in my garden. Especially from spring, summer to autumn, even floral show in winter in warm and humid areas. The bloom and buds have lilac-pink, bright pin, last colour so the show starts early and finishes late with a show of pink to deep blue berries. The berries are ornamental, and edible. The bloom is a lush show even in the bud stage, starting out lilac-pink before bursting open to bright pink buds and pink flowers. After flowers fade, it is followed by purple fruits until dark blue berries that are edible! With the fruits hanging on the plant, it’s also beautiful big show to catch eyes as well as attract lovely birds. Berries are lightly sweet, tasting sort of like kiwi fruit. Without flowers and berries, the shape of plant and mid green leaves have a nice gloss to be the ornamental feature in front of your window, hedge, landscape plant in back yard. While it can grow to 2- 3m, it’s easily pruned to the size suits you, as the stems are soft and branches are not very hard to cut off. Fuchsia Arborescens /Tree Fuchsias grow best sunny to semi shade to filtered light conditions, cool but warm areas where they thrive in both pots and gardens. Plant into humus rich, moist, well-drained soil and shelter the plants from dry heatwave and frost. In pots, use a good quality potting mix with added general purpose fertiliser. Make sure you keep them moist while actively growing.
