General Practitioner
Two full time positions are available for VR or non-VR GPs passionate about rural, remote and Aboriginal health to provide medical services to the friendly and welcoming community in Whyalla.
The Role
Based in Whyalla, these exciting roles offer the opportunity to work in either or both of the practices, Doctors On Playford and Doctors At Westland. You will love the opportunity to provide services to a patient population comprising all age groups, from newborn to over 75 years, including the opportunity to provide Nursing Home care as part of the role.
With a long standing reputation of supporting GPs to Fellowship, the practices are interested in receiving applications from International Medical Graduates who may require supervision.
Fellowed GPs are also able to add diversity to their practise by participating in the supervision of medical students and GP Registrars.
Standard work hours include up to 10 sessions per week during consulting hours, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5.30pm with GP after hours services provided on a Saturday and Sunday via a shared roster.
As an essential member of this rural team of VR GPs this position provides on-call medical services to the Whyalla Hospital for emergency presentations after hours as part of a shared on-call roster with other GPs in the town.
Essential Criteria
MBBS or equivalent
Credentials as a General Practitioner in the clinical domain of GP Medicine (emergency medicine) or the ability to gain credentials
