31ft Vintage Statesman Hi-Lite Caravan w/ Shower, Bunks - ONE OWNER
$32,000
Free delivery all locations.
Hey everyone, it's my pleasure today to bring you this absolutely massive '77 Statesman Hi-Lite caravan. Locked away in a barn in central Queensland for over 30 years - until a couple of weeks ago. She is in amazing near-original condition and is full of nostalgia and history.
With bearings re-greased, we bolted some new wheels on, plugged in the original lights which glowed immediately into life, and I set off on the over 600km journey home.
She's back, she's almost 31ft, she's beautiful and awaiting her new owner(s)! I have her undercover to ensure she continues to stay completely dry. Reluctant sale.
I have uploaded a number of extra photos at this web address: https://ibb.co/album/N7349B
Please have a careful look at them all before enquiry.
Equipped with bunk beds, fold-down double bed up front, sink, underfloor water tank w/ water pump, gas stove/oven, benchtops, gas hot water system, shower, wash basin at rear, 2 full size wardrobes, change room at rear, an abundance of cupboards and storage shelves, three hatches for ventilation, plenty of windows incl twin rooftop windows for added airflow, air conditioner up front (works perfectly and still blows very cold), 240v lighting and outlets throughout the caravan, wind-down stabilizer legs at all four corners, working tail lights and triple side-markers (a beautiful sight at night!), brand new wheels and tyres (original 13 inch wheels and tyres included).
Body is in great shape with only a few dings. A rectangular hole has been cut on the left side of the body to suit small box air conditioner - either install another aircon or a new window. There is a large dent at the lower rear right as well as some minor dings on left and right hand side of body (all detailed in additional photos). The doors have some dents. Paintwork is still shiny and looks great for the age. All windows intact except one with small crack. Shower window and one of the bunk windows could use minor TLC. All windows open and close.
Thanks to being protected from the elements for over 30 years, the body is completely solid. I can quite confidently say there is no rot in the frame. There isn't even any rot in the exposed plywood under the wheel arches. While the caravan was used for a trip through central and western Australia, it was well loved and was clearly always garaged when not on the road.
The drawbar and chassis are both in fantastic condition - original paint still holding steady with only a hint of surface rust starting to show up.
The interior is very cosy, dry and almost completely free of water marks. A couple of the hatches have minor water marks, and I could see a hint of a water mark along the edge of the ceiling in one of the wardrobes and that is just about it. Overall she is unbelievably water damage free, absolutely pleasant original condition! The owners knew she had to be protected, and so they kept her undercover. The carpeting is still in great condition. There is a burn mark on the kitchen bench to the left of the sink from where an extremely hot pot must have been placed. The walls are mostly in great condition apart from some general wear marks and holes where metal hooks would have been screwed into. The shower could use re-sealing, it is clearly well used. The front bookshelf area has been modified at some point for unknown reasons.
This is about as good as it gets for a caravan of this size and era. About as big as you will find on a dual axle. She may suit someone with a large shed or undercover area. Re-sealing is a must. This would be a cracker of a van to bring out on special occasions or to festivals. Can register in QLD by request.
Can deliver and position at no additional cost. ALL locations!
Feel free to contact me via any method. I will do my best to answer all of your questions/make any arrangements.
Offers considered. Potential for trade-in.
Selling to help fund the building of our home.

- Wanted: Looking for a good car trailer!I've been hiring car trailers for too long. There are time constraints, and their condition is dependent on whether they are being abused by the public or maintained by the company. If anyone has a good car trailer/carrier for sale, let me know! I have an interest in full aluminium car trailers but this isn't essential. Just a good, solid trailer made from thick steel or aluminium. A 16ft flatbed trailer would be a bonus, but shorter is okay too. Electric brakes would be a plus.
