I recently got a few bags of 50 cent coins from the bank (well worth doing if you're looking for coins in top condition). What I found genuinely surprised me: this run of 1970s 50 cents (1970, 71, 72, 74 & 75) had clearly been put aside by someone when they were first released into circulation around 50 years ago. A very interesting coin: firstly, from the Bailiwick of Jersey, a British dependency just off the coast of France. Secondly, this 5 shilling coin commemorates the 900th Anniversary of the Battle of Hastings (*****1966), of which the victorious Norman army invaded England from France. Lastly, it has the young portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, who was rightly mourned these last few weeks. In UNC/n.UNC. condition, a great coin.

Beautiful looking coin. 'Advance Australia' clearly readable, with grass beneath Kangaroo/Emu feet and hair below George's crown. Early issue Shilling in Very Fine condition or better, perhaps cleaned? Regardless, a lovely example individually housed that's almost 100 years old, and of course, it has 0.925 silver content.
