Antique Pair of Ornate Silverplate Salad Servers by Allen & Darwin
Ornate pair of silverplate salad servers made between 1898 and 1912 by James Allen and Sidney Darwin at Portland Works in Sheffield. Those silversmiths had been working in London before their move to Portland Works in Sheffield. The Gothic "S" on the back of each handle signifies Sheffield. Both the "A&D" and the hourglass symbol were the marks of those silversmiths during that period. The spoon is 22cm long and the fork 21cm. Postage is not included in price. Antique Silverplate Sauce or Gravy Ladle C1900-1925
Very old silverplate sauce or gravy ladle made between 1900 to 1925 in good condition. It has A1 on the back of the handle as well as "J A N S" (see last photo). A1 is used by English cutlers on silverplate to indicate to indicate superior quality epns (= silverplate = electronically plated nickel silver). None of my silverware/electroplate/hallmark books or the internet explain J A N S although N S possibly means Nickel Silver. The ladle is about 17cm long. Postage is not included in price. Pi

Antique 1796 Sterling Silver Gravy Ladle Made in York, UK
Antique sterling silver gravy ladle made by John Hampton and John Prince silversmiths who started operating in York around 1770. The hallmarks on the back ofvthe curved handle indicate it was made in York in 1796 and so, is over 220 years old. There is a very slight dimple on the right hand side of the bowl of the spoon and I have included extra photos to try and show this The ladle is about 16cm long and weighs 56 grams. Antique Victorian Era Blue and White Enamel Griddle
Antique Victorian era black and white enamel griddle. The handle (29cm long) has blue enamel on both sides whereas the griddle has white enamel (very crazed) on the top and blue enamel underneath. The crazing is to be expected for something over 100 years old. The griddle measures 28cm across and 35cm long (excluding the handle). It has 4 legs and stands 6cm high at the front and 4cm at the handle end every the fat collecting basin is situated. Postage is not included in price. Pickup in Canber
