Amazing High Quality Dark Blue Persian Turquoise From Neishabour Mine
$120
This is a rare, natural, untreated, authentic dark blue Persian turquoise. The stone was mined in the famous Neishabou mine in Iran. The stone is dark blue which is very sort after and not only that it has natural golden pyrite spots on it which another sort after trait in turquoise. The quality of the turquoise layer is great, it is hard stone with high polish capability. The matrix on this stone is hard black rock, once again another desirable aspect for the stones from this mine. The stone is 22.9mm in the longest side. It can be used for making a lovely pendant or can be used for its healing properties as well as a rare collectible item.
Turquoise balances and aligns all the chakras, stabilising mood swings and instilling inner calm. It is excellent for depression and exhaustion, it also has the power to prevent panic attacks. Turquoise promotes self-realisation and assists creative problem solving. It is considered to be the best stone against evil eye and eye diseases. It is also said to help with meditation and prayings. Turquoise is found in only a few places on earth: dry and barren regions where acidic, copper-rich groundwater seeps downward and reacts with minerals that contain phosphorus and aluminum. The result of this sedimentary process is a porous, semitranslucent to opaque compound of hydrated copper and aluminum phosphate.
Neishabour Turquoise mine is considered as one of the oldest if not the oldest turquoise mine in the world with recorded 5000 years of mining history. The turquoise from this mine is considered as the standard of the industry due to its quality of stones.
Turquoise is one of the first gems used by human. Throughout the history it has been a highly prestigious gemstone of cultures such as the Persians, Egyptians, Aztecs, Chinese and Tibetans.
Interestingly, the belief shared by all these civilizations associate turquoise with success, a bringer of good fortune and protection. In Persia turquoise initially was called "pirouzeh" meaning "victory" and later "firouzeh". Ancient Egyptians called turquoise “mefkat,” which also means “joy” and “delight.” Turquoise buried in Ancient Egyptian tombs is among the world’s oldest jewelry (4000 BC). Chinese artisans were carving it more than 3,000 years ago. Turquoise was a ceremonial gem and a medium of exchange for Native American tribes in the southwestern US. They also used it in their jewelry and amulets. The Apaches believed that turquoise attached to a bow or firearm increased a hunter’s or warrior’s accuracy. Turquoise has long been considered a stone that guarantees health, good fortune, and protection from evil.
