These vintage scales, dating back 90 to 100 years, belonged to my great grandfather, a skilled fisherman renowned for his catches on Lake Illawarra. They were essential tools for weighing prawns and fish during his expeditions.

The scales were used in post office for weighing letters and calculating the cost of postage before invention of the digital scales we used to seeing today. These are two old weights for scales. Price is for both items. The first one has Arabic numerals, and other stampings on the top and base. It weighs approximately 56g [2 oz] and is brass or a similar metal. The second one is a Castlemaine Goldfields find with no markings, weighing approximately 48g, and is crudely made from lead or a similar a heavy metal.
