Another Gummie has convinced me that this Whittingslowe pea sheller is the real thing but a later (1950s) model than the other older (1940s) one. So now I am selling them separately. Whittingslowe used chrome plated steel with a small timber handle and rubber rollers. It has some minor rust marks on the inside of the neck but seems clear of other wear signs. There is a short video on u-tube on how these work if you are interested.

Perhaps the inner purse was specifically for coins and the outer for bank notes. There are 2 pennies and a halfpenny in the inner purse. In its original box, a yellow, black and white push button "HAVE A HAPPY DAY" smiley face SALT "n" PEPPER set made by Whirley Industries Inc. in Warren, Pennsylvania, USA in 1970s. The back of the packaging has instruction about how to fill the containers and how to use them. This is a must for a yellow themed retro kitchen decor. The tin measures about 9cm high with a 6cm diameter and is still a little over half full of turmeric. The smaller Harper's Star Brand 1 oz. net. tin of whole pimentos is just over 6cm high and has a diameter of 5cm. It also still has some pimentos in it but just enough to cover the bottom of the tin.

Plastics in Melbourne probably in the 1940-50s before Maurice Monk (the M in the M. & L.) started up the Swan Plastics company which is still around today.
