Two quite unique 130 year old , Horse drawn ,Charabanc wagon wheels
These paired "Charabanc" --which means -- wagon with benches -- rear braking wheels were manufactured by wheelwrights in Brookvale blacksmith shop -- North Sydney in the early 1890's. They are fabricated entirely from cast steel of a type produced before the introduction of solid vulcanized rubber overlays -- they are fitted with rigid cast steel tyres. These units were used on the -- Manly to Fairlight run and have been in our family for over 130 years. The wheels would make excellent exhibit
