Mask was brought back to Australia in the 1960s. Sepik hand carved mask featuring a snake in the middle. Approximately 107cm by 34cm at its widest. Natural ochre used for colours. In incredible condition considering its age. Has a hole in the top allowing it to be hung up and displayed. Pick up Bongaree, Bribie Island . Cannot ship.

Offered for sale is this large vintage 20th Century Papua New Guinea (Massim/Trobriand Islands) carved hardwood bowl, made post-WW2 and most likely dating from 1950’s to 1970’s. Given the scarcity of native tropical hardwoods through over-logging, pieces of this size (and depth) are now extremely hard to find as materials are very limited.
