Dating from the late 19th century (approx 1880s to 1910), a beautiful figural French Japy Freres mantle clock, in superb working order. The cast metal case is a work of art. Decorated with sinuous leaves and flowers, it displays the flowing lines and curves that are synonymous with the Art Nouveau period. The crowning glory is the ‘Bucheron’ woodcutter figure poised with his axe against a tree stump. At the rear, the case is stumped with the circular manufacturers mark ‘Fabrication
