This is a rare & original cased set of game fish servers dated 1901. Both server & fork are solid sterling silver - no silver plate or tool steel. Each piece is hallmarked Sheffield 1901 & bears the makers stamp of "SB" (Stainton Bros) to the ferrule. Handles are the finest, genuine "White Bone" & are substantial. Made by Sheffield silversmiths HW Wilkinson Ltd in 1899, right before the end of the firm. Marks are: HW Ld, anchor, lion and lower vase “r”. One stick is in very good condition (the one on the right in the photos). The one on the left has had the ballast replaced and has some dents in it. Both have nicks and wear. Each stands 12.8cm, or 5 inches tall. The diameter of the base is 3 inches, or 7.5cm.
