Hakea Macraena plants white flowers
Graceful, weeping native shrub with thin, spikey leaves up to 10cm long all over the branches. Small, white spidery flowers occur in clusters about 15-20cm long on older wood in spring, and smell delightfully of vanilla and honey. Great plant for birds, and can be used as a standalone plant or in rows as screening plants. Grows up to 3m, usually less though depending on conditions, and can be pruned to desirable height and width. Very hardy, and does best in well drained soil in a sunny spot.
