This is a vintage ,Art Deco ,square barrel, brass, door sliding bolt. The bolt is in good working condition and nice cosmetic condition apart from a slight bend at the head of the plate underneath which will have no effect whatsoever on the bolt and can't be seen unless you lift it up and look underneath - See pictures. These are a pair of matching, ANTIQUE tiles by A & E Tiles Co Ltd. (The American Encaustic Tiling Company). The company was founded in New York, New York in 1875. Their tiles were intended to compete with the English tiles that were selling in the United States for use in fireplaces and other architectural locations. This is an antique, ART NOUVEAU tile that was produced around the turn of 19th / 20th century. The tile is in very nice condition apart from a small chip on one edge - See Pictures. (In architecture the Capital or 'Head' forms the upper most member of a column or pilaster. It mediates between the column and the load thrusting down on it). This is a beautifully designed, ORIGINAL, late 1800s, cast iron spring loaded door lock with pull chain. They are typically found at the top edge of double doors and are used to keep them in place when closed. It has some rust on it but is otherwise in very solid condition and the bolt is still easily pulled across using the chain or the hook connected to the chain. These are a pair of antique frosted / dimpled glass cabinet / cupboard style doors that came out of a house in Drummond St Carlton and are circa 1910s. One of the wood frames is secure however one is loose on one side - See picture. The glass in both frames however is in beautiful condition and could be transplanted to wherever they were needed. This is a very beautiful and RARE vintage bathroom porcelain basin with front cover that was produced by Johnson Bros in England more than half a century ago and came out of a house in Carlton, Melbourne. The date, 26 April 1972 is stamped underneath the pale green basin as is 'Johnson Bros England SWANLYNE Vitreous China'. The basin has 3 predrilled tap holes for a spout and duel tap combination and is in lovely condition apart from a very small chip on the left side of the basin - see picture
