Pros

Cons

  • Driver-pleasing rear-wheel-drive dynamics
  • Good (turbo) engines from base model upwards
  • Styling and value have both improved with updates
  • M135i/M140i models are modern performance bargains
  • Interior design could be more inspired
  • Exterior design still rather frumpy
  • Rear-seat space compromised by rear-drive set-up
  • Faster hatches available for less money in the case of many variants

  • 54700 km
  • Convertible
  • Auto
  • 6 cyl 3.0L

An immaculate example of the convertible M sport 135i. Very low kms (54600) with full service history. Only selling as I have upgraded to a larger car. This care is in better condition than most 135i's half its age. The 225kw engine and DCT 7 speed transmission is an excellent combination and makes for a great driver's car. Features include GPS, Bluetooth connectivity, dual zone climate control, premium harmon/kadron sound, heated seats, cruise control, the list goes on.

This an immaculate example with very low k's, near new tyres and perfect service record from BMW dealers. Plenty of power from the twin turbo inline six, combined with lighting fast changes from the dual clutch transmission and the beautiful growl from the twin pipe exhaust, make this an exhilarating driving experience. Sadly selling as I need a 4 wheel drive for a move to country Victoria. Paintwork, leather interior and rims are all in beautiful scratch free condition. Please come and have a

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR: BMW 1 SERIES (2011 ON)

This version of the 1 Series came along just after BMW's problems with timing-chain stretch on its 1.6-litre engine. So, these cars shouldn't exhibit this trait.

That said, BMW messed around with anything up to four different camchain-tensioner designs to solve the problem, so we'd still be having a close listen for a rattling noise on start-up.

Check the vacuum pump has been sufficiently lubricated, which supplies the assistance to the car's braking. If not, the pump could fail, leaving the car with no brake-booster. The brakes would still work, but the pedal would need an awfully big push from the driver to pull things up quickly in an emergency.

The other thing to check with the little BMW is that all the electrical accessories and do-dads work properly. That includes the sunroof and the cruise control. And make sure the air-conditioner blows icy cold.
