Owned since new. 140,000 kms, 2 litre turbo diesel. Pink slip till 1 Feb 2025. Rego till 1 August 2024. 3 new tyres January 2024. Electrics fixed in February 2024. This has been our beach car (driven on road, mostly in Sydney’s east) for a while now but it’s time to let it go. Tensioner belt and CV boot likely needs to be replaced, approx $500 to fix. Comes with 1 key. AC not working. Engine in good shape. No rust.

TURBO is not working anymore so it needs replacing car drives but realy slowly REGo cancelled 6th April 2024 car may not require pink slip for next registration ?not sure? so after 3 months unregistered it will require a blue slip 300 000 kms all electrics work some seat belts missing in the back row and some plastics cause I used this car for work cleaning so I had the seats down always. Every 15,000km or nine months, whichever is sooner. Each service currently costs between $279 and $1654 depending on engine and vehicle mileage/age. Holden Captiva parts and accessoriescan be found on Gumtree.
Diesel versions of the Captiva seem to suffer the common woes of modern turbo-diesel technology.
The soot filter can become blocked, particularly if the vehicle doesn't see at least some highway running every few weeks.
The combination of exhaust-gas recirculation and crankcase ventilation conspires to create a black, gooey sludge that collects in the intake manifold and can seriously affect performance and economy.
Beyond that, the Captiva seems to be a bit trouble-prone in terms of things like its electrical systems, so make sure everything works properly.
Some owners have reported gearbox failures, too, so check that the automatic selects gears promptly and without bangs or clunks, and that all the gears are present and accounted for.
Don't forget to check reverse as well.
